FAQ

Is the PWR Case compatible with any devices other than the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s?

Currently the PWR Case is only available for the iPhone 5 and 5s. We will be expanding to other devices in the near future. You can click here to subscribe to our newsletter and be the first to get updates on new products, or you can follow us on twitter or like us on facebook.

If the PWR Case allows for cord-free charging why does Prong supply a cord with the case?

People have become accustomed to needing a cord to charge their "cord-free" devices. We supply a micro usb cord with the PWR Case because some people have a difficult time adjusting to life without wires. We want to allow PWR Case users to charge wherever, whenever, and however they choose. With the included micro USB cord you can charge your iPhone, or just the backup battery, anywhere there is a USB port. You can also use the micro USB cord to sync your iPhone with iTunes without detaching the backup battery.

Which regions is the PWR Case Compatible with?

The PWR Case has built-in plugs that are compatible with the A/C power outlets in the USA, Canada, Mexico, China, Japan, and many countries in South America. If you are in a region that does not have a compatible outlet, the PWR Case supports the full range of voltages from 110-240 Volts. In these regions, all you need is a plug adapter, not a voltage converter. In addition, you can always charge using the the supplied micro USB cord to charge both the backup battery and the iPhone itself in any USB port.

Can you charge the iPhone by plugging it directly into an outlet along with the backup battery?

Absolutely! Just like our first product the -PocketPlug- the worlds first iPhone case with integrated charging plugs, the PWR Case can be plugged directly into any outlet along with the iPhone. Both the iPhone itself and the backup battery will charge simultaneously when they are both plugged in together.

How much additional battery can I get from the backup battery?

Up to 100% additional battery.

How long does it take to charge the iPhone from the backup battery?

The iPhone itself charges from the backup battery at a 1.2 amp charge rate. This is the maximum charge rate that Apple allows for iPhone charging accessories. In our testing we have found that the iPhone charges approximately 1% per minute, but the charging time varies depending a number of factors including the model iPhone (5 or 5s), the iOS version running on your device, whether your Bluetooth and wifi are turned on, how new your iPhone is, and the applications and your frequency of use while the iPhone is charging. Charge time is also affected by the percentage battery life of the iPhone the moment that charging from the backup battery is initiated (i.e. it charges slower when the iPhone battery is almost at 0%).

Will the PWR Case have UL, mFi, and FCC certification?

Yes. All Prong products come with UL, mFi, and FCC certifications. This means that you can be confident that our products are safe, compatible with your iPhone, and are rigorously tested to the highest quality standards.

How do I put the PWR Case in Sleep Mode to conserve battery?

To put in sleep mode, press and hold the bottom button until two LED lights start blinking; then let go. The PWR Case will be in sleep mode. To wake up, either press the bottom button to begin charging or plug the PWR Case in.

How do I reset the PWR Case?

If the PWR Case is not charging properly, it can be reset by following these instructions: First, make sure that there is some charge in the case, then with the back facing you so you can see the LED lights, press and hold the start/stop button on the bottom of the case until 3 LEDs light up (first two will blink, then three). This may take between 15 and 30 seconds to occur. Once the three light illuminate, let go of the button. The PWR Case has now been reset.
